Two of our extraordinary ladies, Jen (whose husband lives here at Bridge House) and Betty, have been knitting up a storm, creating the most beautiful and vibrant wool poppies to raise money for the Royal British Legion  and their vital Poppy Appeal. Their passion for knitting has not only resulted in stunning pieces, but it has also sparked interest among other residents, encouraging them to join in and share their own crafting experiences. This sense of camaraderie is vital to fostering a community spirit within our care home in Brighouse.

Just look at their gorgeous creations! The care and detail in every single knitted poppy truly shine through. They have been busy selling these tokens of remembrance and hope, and thanks to the generosity of everyone who purchased one, they have already raised a brilliant £161.50! Each poppy tells a story of love, loss, and gratitude, reminding us of the sacrifices made by our armed forces. The vibrant colours and meticulous craftsmanship highlight the creativity that thrives in our care home, displaying the talents of our residents and their commitment to meaningful causes.

The money has been proudly given to the Royal British Legion, supporting their essential work in helping our service men and women, veterans, and their families. This fantastic initiative is a beautiful reminder of the enduring spirit of our residents and the lovely connections within our community. By participating in this fundraising effort, we foster a sense of belonging and purpose, making a significant impact on those in need. The support for the Royal British Legion extends beyond just fundraising; it embodies the values of respect and gratitude that we hold dear at our care home in Brighouse.

A massive thank you and well done to Jen and Betty for their brilliant craftsmanship and charitable hearts! Your dedication is truly inspiring. We encourage other residents at Bridge House to get involved and share their own talents, whether through knitting, painting, or other creative ventures. These activities not only enrich their lives but also serve to uplift the spirits of everyone around them. Together, we can create a vibrant community that celebrates creativity and compassion.
