Experience Premier Care in a New Care Home in Bridlington

The Maltings will offer residents the chance to enjoy everything that makes Bridlington so loved, the fresh coastal air, the sound of gulls in the distance, and that unmistakable feeling of being by the water.
We know that environment matters, not just the comfort of the building itself, but the feeling it gives. Our aim is to create a home where every day feels connected to the community, the coast, and the people who make life here so special.

In addition to the natural beauty of Bridlington, we aim to incorporate local culture into our home. This includes themed events that celebrate Bridlington’s history, such as local music nights featuring artists from the area or art exhibitions showcasing creations by local artists, thereby keeping residents engaged and connected with their heritage.

Specialist Dementia Care – Guided by Tom Kitwood’s Person-centred Philosophy

Our approach to dementia care is inspired by the pioneering work of Professor Tom Kitwood, whose principles of personhood remain at the heart of everything we do.
This means seeing the individual not the diagnosis. It’s about understanding life history, personal values, and emotional world, and using this knowledge to shape every interaction. From the layout of our spaces to the way we train our team, The Maltings will be built around relationship-centred care, not routine.

By incorporating Tom Kitwood’s principles, our team will create an environment where each resident feels valued and understood. Staff training will focus on communication strategies that respect the dignity of those living with dementia. We will host regular workshops where caregivers can share experiences and learn about progressive techniques to enhance the quality of life for residents.

A ‘Holiday with Care’ Experience

We also understand that everyone needs a break sometimes, we will offer the chance to experience respite care in a way that not only provides an opportunity to relax and recharge bit that feels positive, uplifting and fun.
The Maltings will offer holiday respite stays, short breaks that include a traditional seaside holiday experience. With thoughtful touches, seaside surroundings, and activities designed to bring joy, we want visitors to leave refreshed, reassured that we are here whenever they need us.

The Maltings will also organise community integration activities that allow respite care visitors to mingle with long-term residents, including picnics and game days that encourage interaction between different age groups. This not only enriches the lives of those who stay with us but also fosters a sense of belonging within the wider community.

A Structured Career Path

Our team members will be supported to learn and achieve. The Maltings will offer clear career pathways, team members that wish to advance their career will be fully supported to achieve their goals. We are proud of our staff retention rates at our homes, we value our team, we offer well-being support, flexible hours and full training and support. We will be recruiting in the new year so if you are looking to work for a care provider that cares for its staff as well as its residents, do get in touch. recruitment@themaltingscarehome.co.uk

Moreover, we will implement mentorship programmes, pairing seasoned staff members with new recruits to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development. This will help maintain high standards of care throughout our team and create a supportive environment where all staff feel empowered to excel.

Looking Ahead

As the build progresses, we’ll be sharing more updates from site and introducing the people behind the project, from the care team to our interior designers who have shared the designs and swatches that enable us to create our CGI video tour.

As we near the completion of our project, we will invite the community to participate in open days where they can tour the facility and meet our team. This initiative is not just about showcasing our care home; it’s about fostering relationships with the local community and ensuring transparency in our operations.
